Howl-O-Ween Fundraiser at HQ 2025

Our very first Howl-O-Ween event at Bayshore HQ was one for the books!

This event marked a milestone for Bayshore Dog Training, following the recent renovation of our pole barn into a fully functioning training HQ. The transformation was a labor of love made possible with the help of my new training assistant, Quinn, who worked alongside me to design, decorate, and prepare every detail; from games and prizes to merchandise and event layout.

Together, we coordinated a small army of volunteers who made this event possible. Every single one of them showed up on time, ready to help, and handled their tasks with care and professionalism. Their energy, teamwork, and dedication turned a modest community gathering into something truly special.

The evening kicked off with a variation of musical chairs, or as we called it, Musical Mutts. Handlers and their dogs formed a training circle, and each round tested their focus and teamwork. The last dog to sit was “out,” and the first to sit was safe, creating a fun, engaging way to practice obedience under distraction.

Next came the Pack Walk Costume Parade, where our alumni and guests showed off their festive costumes while practicing calm leash manners and neutrality around other dogs. It was a perfect example that structured training and celebration can go hand in hand.

After the parade, attendees enjoyed mini games, vendor browsing, and a professional photoshoot. The night closed with an outdoor movie under the stars.

The event went off without a hitch. All of the dogs (including several rescue pups who got a much-needed day out of the shelter) handled themselves beautifully. Every handler demonstrated control, awareness, and teamwork, which made the atmosphere peaceful and enjoyable for everyone.

All proceeds from entry fees and raffles went directly to Raining Cats and Dogs Shelter and Sanctuary, Inc., a rescue I’ve been honored to work closely with for many years. Their team and dogs hold such a special place in my heart, and it means so much to be able to give back and support the incredible work they do every day.

We also featured a foster from one of my longtime partners, Second Chance Friends, Inc. Stanley, an 80 lb. Great Dane/Pit mix I’ve trained since he was a puppy, joined in on the festivities. Seeing him and other rescues out in the community, practicing their skills and soaking up attention, was a full circle moment for my passion as a dog trainer very active in the rescue community.

This event would not have been possible without my volunteers, who rearranged their schedules and worked so hard before, during, and after the event. You made this day seamless and full of heart.

A special thank you as well to Katie Murray Photography, LLC for being our featured vendor and capturing so many of the day’s best moments.

Howl-O-Ween was the perfect way to celebrate our new HQ and bring together the community that makes Bayshore so special. We’re already planning future pack walks and training seminars designed to keep the momentum going. If you missed this event, don’t worry — it’s only the beginning. Follow Bayshore Dog Training on Facebook and Instagram for upcoming dates, classes, and community events. We can’t wait to see you (and your pups) at the next one!!
